Your Wrong. Ive seen the movie with commentarys from Taylor and ive seen making of the movie. Ray himself recordet some samples wich were used in the movie. Two of the songs that he recordet were I got a woman and Hit the road jack. You can clearly hear that its Ray himself singing. The only time Jamie Foxx himself sang was in the Rocking Chair club were he meets Quincy Jones

The thing with stop motion compared to CGI is that the people that made movies knew the limits of stop motion and didn't over do it. They knew that, at the end of the day, the special effects were second to the story. Nowadays it's the complete opposite...story is second to the CGI. George Lucas is the king of overdoing the CGI, the prequel movies were such shit because that's all they were was a bunch of shinies that had no emotion or even reason for being.

Personally, I think the number one thing CGI holds that traditional Stop Motion cannot achieve is dynamic camera movements. In almost all cases, stop motion is restricted to locked off cameras with pan and tilt only. CGI gives directers and DOPs the option to get dynamic and exciting with the camera. Having said that, I do, and always will, hold a special place in my heart for stop motion, optical compositing, motion capture model photography etc etc.

I suppose your right about Stevies influences,besides being very likely.I don't know how to play guitar,but I sure can enjoy listening.I would go as far as to say Stevie does a better Jimi then Jimi does Jimi.I've never seen anyone pour their heart and soul into a guitar like Stevie does.
